i am in the process of modifying my desk and want to know summin? how do i make the tabs indicated in the pic transparent or translucent so that it matches the whole panel

Not for sure one can do those items just the bar only. It might be possible but will be theme depend it. Look at Control Center > Desktop > Panels > tab called Appearance. Look at the bootom.
you can make the desktop chooser/pager transparent by right clicking on it and choosing show-transparent. The task bar, as far as I know, cannot be made transparent. You can chuck it all together though and simply middle click on the desktop and get the same info.
I'm in GNOME right now so I'm doing this from memory but you need to open the panel menu and you need to find an advanced tab in there you can make them "fade out" or "transparent". I prefer fade out so I can get to them if I need them. Hope this helps.
If you right click on the panel, choose appearance then click the transparency box then click advanced options and lower tint all the way down you get complete transparency that looks really cool.
