Making KDE boot in 3/5 seconds - article?

Hi,

I remember reading an article by one of the KDE developers who stripped down his system so much that he managed to boot KDE in 3 (or 5?) seconds. The problem is that I'd now like to re-read it (and possibly apply it), but I cannot find it!

Google searches didn't help either, so if anyone could post a link I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

Hmm, I seem to remember reading that somewhere.........I was building LFS 5.0 and was researching on how to optimize KDE.......you might try the "hints" section of the LFS site OR read thru the BLFS book for the link to the article.....

Hmm - Thanks for the hint. I've looked in the BLFS book and there's nothing there about speeding up KDE. I also peeked at the hints, but froma quick browse (and search!) nothing turned up. I'm pretty sure I saw it on either LinuxToday.com or LWN.net, so I'm gonna search around there...

Thanks though!

If anyone knows where to find it, then please just drop me a line...
