Making an installation DVD from CDs?
 

Many of the distros I've been trying are multiple CDs. It would be nice to have a single DVD instead.

Is there a way to make the CDs into a single DVD? I thought of simply copying all of the files into a data DVD, but I'm not entirely sure that it will work.

It will depend on the distro. For example, last time I used rh (8.0) you couldn't because the installer expects the disks to be made from iso files, which were images of cd's not dvd's. Copying the files wouldn't do it. I'm sure the are some that could with a little finigaling. Slack maybe? Or a source based distro like LFS (what I'm using), but I doubt that's what you have in mind.
