Unhappy Make Clean


Dear all,

I want your fast action, NOW

When i did make clean the error MSG below appear.....

make: *** No rule to make target `clean'. Stop.

Well, whatever package your compiling didn't put in an option in their script/app to use 'make clean'. Simple enough eh?

And please don't ask members to answer quickly in your posts. Its rude as there is no priority in answering questions on a FREE site like this one.

AFAIK, not all packages support make clean. Just as you can't do make test in all packages, just depends on the programmer and if they wanted to include the clean file or the rules to define the clean action.

You can make your own clean file too. See GNU make docs for details on rules and especially Section 4.6 on phony targets, which clean is, or at least can be.

You would execute it by "make -f clean"

I didn't mean to ask you to do it quickly. NO

But becuse i'am sure that you are going to help the users who just now started using linux, as the members did in my last post
