Question

all,
The problem is that i want to upgrade my RH6.2 box from kernel-2.2.16 to 2.2.18, while compiling kernel 2.2.18( make bzImage ), got the error as follow,

gcc-Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -020fomit-frame-pointer -o scritps/split-include scripts/split_include.c

In file included from /usr/include/errno.h:36,
from /scripts/split-include.c:26

/usr/include/bits/errno.h:25 linux/errno.h: No such file or directory
make:*** [scritps/split-include] Error1

Can someone see a problem there? what does it meaning for??!

THKS

well i dont know how to fix it but it cant find a file its looking for, but i would recommend you try out a 2.4.x version kernel they are much more updated for hardware and are a bit faster.

yes, there is a problem.
Update your gcc. I've compiled the 2.2.18 kernel with gcc-2.96 without problems.
Give it a try.

Wink i found the solution

YA, i found the solution.

actually it's not the old GCC problem, i found somehow there are two symbolic link are missed in /usr/include/, which linkup to /usr/src/linux/include/linux and asm.

BTW THKS all your effort.
