Make & launcher newbie question

I am using RH 7.3 and up to this point have only installed software from RPM's. Tonight I am trying to get my Linux box setup to connect to a win2k terminal server. I downloaded the source for RDESKTOP (could not find an RPM) and I in a terminal window I used cd to get to the directory where the downloaded files were and did make. It seemed to work, and I can launch rdesktop from a command line and it works great. Now for the question. By doing make, did the program install somewhere or what? should I be able to delete the directory that I downloaded the source into and still run the program? In order to launch the program from a command line now, I have to use cd to get about 3 directories deep into my home folder where the source is and the type ./rdesktop -f servername . which is a real pain. Should I have put the source into a particular directory before doing make to be able to launce it without browsing down to that directory? I would like to be able to create a launcher for this but since I have to browse into that directory to launch it I dont know how to do that. I'm sure I did something wrong here so any help is appreciated.

Nevermind. I figured out what I did wrong. I needed to do make install after make, now it works good.

I use rdesktop and I love it, thought I'd post this for you if you want a launcher on your desktop -

==============================================
"To connect to a remote Windows machine called “winxp.mylan.com”, create a shell script that automatically launches rdesktop. For example:
#!/bin/sh
rdesktop -u “username” -g 1024x768+0+0 winxp.mylan.com

This will connect to winxp.mylan.com as the user “username” and set the screen geometry to 1024 x 768, starting at the x and y offsets of 0 on the screen"
==============================================

Hope this helps!
