Mail not sending to local user?
Hi Everybody,

I am trying to send a mail to another user on my box with the command mail user then I input the subject, hit 'enter' and I put some words in the content, then I hit 'CTRL - D'. I receive a message like EOT, but when I check on the other user account no mail was received.
Does anybody knows about this issue?
By the way, I am using Slackware 12.0.

Can you send mail at all? Are you using sendmail or postfix for the MTA? Sendmail usually comes by default and it should be running with a base configuration in order to send mail using the mail command.

Hmmm, I have found out that I had disabled the sendmail deamon when I installed Slackware on my PC. I have enabled it and tested again and could finally send mails to another users on my box.
Now the odd thing is that if I log in with my user to my box and put the command 'mail' to check the mails I receive the message 'no mail found', this would be under tty1 but when I login rempotely via SSH with console pts/0 I can see the mails:confused:. How can I setup to see also the mails under tty1?
