Lynx WWW browser secure?

I was just trying out the text-based WWW browser called Lynx. I was checking my email but was wondering if this was safe to use for email and banking.

It's kind of fun seeing webpages without the images and graphics.

Since it doesn't support Javascript, Plugins, or Java, it's pretty safe. It does do SSL, but even so, some banks don't want to work with it.

There are also some other text browsers out there with somewhat different featuresets: links, links2, elinks, and w3m.
