lynx download interrupted...do I need to clean up?

RH7.1
Downloading apache via lynx but it was interrupted. Are there any fragments that I need to clean up? I don't see any files in the dir.

Thanks,

If you were just downloading the source file you should be fine. It has to be untarred before any of it installs, if that's what you were alluding to.

Ok, thanks...
I didn't finish the download so naturally I didn't untar the file. But It seems like there would be something that was written to the directory I was downloading to. It had to have written to disk somewhere.

Yeah, I wondered about that too. When a download or file tranfer aborts in other OS's, at least the filename usually gets created (even if there's nothing in that file) before the actual data is written to disk. My shot-in-the dark intuition is that Linux may not work that way, and that when the d/l aborted, everything got lost in the limbo of a memory cache (or perhaps a temp file?). My limited guru-powers just can't see that deeply into the workings of the ext2fs filesystem.

(If anyone else out there can shed some light, I'd be interested to know...)
