LVM VolGroup00 not found

I have a CentOS4.6 server with 2 drives and configured as independent Physical volumes for each disk. Next both PV are now one Volume Group (VolGroup00) followed by each LV:

PV:disk 1
PV:disk 2

VG:VolGroup00

lv:swap
lv:/rootVol
lv:/usrVol
lv:/usr/localVol
lv:/homeVol
lv:/varVol

Something caused system to have a kernel panic. However when rebooting I get errors:

Inconsistence metadata checksum error
Volume Group "VolGroup00" not found

How can I use the UUID for the VG to restore access to the VolGroup therefore allowing system to boot, and recover access to LV's?
