lvm - system logger halted
Hello,
I 've installed a rhel4 system, without lvm. So far no problem. Now I put some extra disks in the system, with lvm configuration.
I 've configured a logical volume varlv (what should replace the original /var).
What I did:
* make a varlv
* mount varlv /mnt
* cp -r /var/* /mnt
* vi /etc/fstab and added the /dev/VolGroup00/varlv /var ext3 ....
* reboot the system
But when the services start up, the system halts on the system logger (syslogd -> writes in /var/log). After some time, this service is skipped and the startup goes on, but syslogd can't be started.
Anyone an idea?
thx
