LVM? I have 1 VG, how to make a LG (/var) go only to the third Scsi Drive

I have an LVM with three scsi Drives all in one Volume Group. I setup several Logical Volumes ... /, swap, /etc, /var and others in Disk Druid LVM as I installed RH8. I believe I want to designate the /var Logical Group to one drive sdc1 (So I could use exclusively for logs or qmail maybe?)

VGdisplay shows the VG and each of the three Physical drives and it shows the Logical Volumes... all active, available/allocatable and I believe? with enough space... the files are virtually empty right now, new install.
I've read several LVM how tos... and
I've explored pvmove? ... for ex:

pvmove -dvn /dev/VG/var /dev/sdc1
error says --not enough free/allocatable physical extents...?

I'm not doing sumthin' right, the goal is EZ moving of each logicalvolume to a specific drive on the set of drives yet all in one VG. I would appreciate a little directing to some light.
thanks much,
the ~piratebiter~ hisself
