Hi All,

We have setup the LVM in one of the Linux Server.
Yesterday while working on Yast LVM , accidentally added the /dev/mdo into one of the VG's. (which previously was not added in any VG)

Now question is should it be there as it is , since it is not assigned to any LV so far or Need to remove it from the VG as it might some day or later affect the LVM.

As I'm not very well aware of /dev/md0 concepts hence concerned whether to remove the changes done or not ...as its a live server.

Any suggestions/comments are welcome.

well you can certainly use a raid block device as part of an LVM implementation. I often recommend doing pairs of drives, software raided as level 1 and then using a number of those pairs as a single large resilient and scalable solution.

Thanks for the reply. But thing is , this raid block device is not been configured fully ....right?? I just happened to add it in one of the existing volume groups. And thats it nothing more nothing else.

So just worried if it might affect the LVM setup , lets say when we reboot the system or so.
