Unless your using a company provided windows 7 box where hibernate takes longer than a reboot. I use suspend on my Slackware box because its reliable (I've never seen a window box that didn't have issues coming out of suspend every once a and while.)

Technically (windows 7) resumed from hibernate in just a minute or two but then is unuseable for the next 15 because it then thinks it has to read and write everything out and back into swap.

She would say the same thing about Windows.

I do know that, when I have to help her out with something Windows, it leads me to appreciate Linux even more.
I couldn't even look at a Windows computer anymore. I quit doing side jobs for people and their viruses.
The headaches from trying to deal with their issues were on par with some of the issues I deal with on Linux but hey, when I do figure it out in the end on the Linux projects, I get to feel proud of myself and actually have real knowledge in the end! What am I gonna do with the knowledge from removing some windows virus or figuring out why the printer wouldn't mount? Yeah not much! A new virus will come tomorrow but LDAP might not change for a while....

Yes this.

I've tried to help people and wasted an evening cleaning up their system only to have them call me a month later because they still use AOL/Yahoo/MSN and their malware popups.
Had a relative of my wife's who is legally blind calling me all the time asking questions about how to do this and that. Then he gets his annual disabled bonus and buys a brand new system from best buy more expensive and nicer than anything I can afford and askes me how to use it and gives his old system to someone else and gives them my number to ask me how to use it. Finally changed my phone number.
