I recently installed Mandrake 8.2 and during the install it said to run sndconfig after installation. No problem, I ran it, found the right sound card, heard the sound samples and it said it was wrighting a new config file. Listend to cd's and all that good stuff. Problem is that every time I reboot I get an error about not having sound configured right after login and I have to run sndconfig again. I also have to redo my network card settings everytime so that I can get on the internet. To make matters worse, the last time I rebooted my screen graphics are all goofy on the log in screen as well as the desktop. I dont figure that is really a hardware thing because this same box didnt have any of this trouble with RH7.2. Why would I be loosing my settings like this?

Next boot try to note down the errors you get, after youu log in look into /var/log/messages and search for errors connected with your nic and sound. Post them all here.
