Hello Unspawn!
Thank you for your interest in how the Live Linux Help Desk System is developing.
To sum things up, I have gotten significant feedback with only my modest promotion. I did not yet move beyond Linuxquestions.org, because I think it provides the most qualified agents for interfacing with new users. They have the technical know-how, cordial behavior, and experience in dealing in an organized and developed fashion.
On the technical end, things have hardly been idle. I am looking into national (United States) and international (UK, Canada, France, etc.) phone numbers that access the server, provide features to monitor and control quality of the calls, setting up proper queues, etc.
Two Thumbs up to everyone who has already shown interest in participating and supporting the Live Linux Help Desk. However, as of May 5, 2009, it is still premature to go live. We need just another modest amount of 8 - 12 Linux users who can become agents for the system to go live immediately.
Ultimately, it is up to the supporters of the Linux community to give this project the impetus it needs to turn into a valuable avenue of Linux assistance.
I'll keep everyone updated as things progress,
Murdock
