Looking for reviews of SmartPhones with Linux
Hey all.
Just was wondering a few things. I am currently in the market for a smartphone that integrates well into Linux (I run Fedora Core). I am a Verizon Wireless subscriber so I know that limits my choices as switching to another provider is not exactly an option. I am part of a family plan and located in the North East where they have a strangle hold and that "IN" feature saves mega bucks. I am trying to stay away from anything MS so I was mainly looking at the Palm Treo 700p. Any help would be appreciated. Also just throwing this out there...I don't have to stay with a Smart Phone. If there are any good reviews of PDAs that work really well with Linux and aren't MS based I will give those a gander too. I would just like to keep my belt from weighing my pants down too much :). Thanks in advance |
Not impressed with the Treo's we have several here at work, and they constantly stop syncing with the users mail for no apparent reason. I used to LOVE Palms stuff years ago. from what I've seen lately I wouldn't want to touch one.
Isn't the newest Motorola Razor Linux based ? the Motorola Ming or A1200 is... That being said.. take a look at Wired article on Open Phones. http://www.wired.com/gadgets/wireles...y_linux_phones |
