Logitech mx700 access problem

Under "configure-KDE control module"

"It reads under the MX700 tab:
You have a Logitech Mouse connected, and libusb was found at compile time, but it was not possible to access this mouse. This is probably caused by a permission problem-you should consult the manual on how to fix this."

What manual? How do I fix this?

For someone who knows what they are doing....it might have helped. As for me? Still clueless as always. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. (Misery loves company.)

solution...

If you run kcenter as root user then you don't get that error. Not really any settings that you can change but it gives an indication of the battery level...

Ok, thanks...I just found that out. Now I have a different problem. Suddenly I can't get linux to let me use a mouse until after I get into the hardware/mouse section under su. Then, suddenly the mouse works. Any ideas? I'm also going to post a new thread on this problem.

Also, how can I get the side buttons to move the pages in Mozilla forward and back like I used to be able to do in windows?
