login prompt loop with Suse Live CD

Hi,

I finally downloaded the Suse Live CD ISO to see what all the fuzz is about. Well, I boot off from the CD and at the login: prompt I keep typing root, but it kicks me back to the login: prompt. Before going back to the login prompt, it displays "have a lot of fun". Finally after too many tries it stops with an error message:

INIT Id 1 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

Help!
