Hi Jhocko

Typically when your setting up a Linux distribution you are asked to create a Home password and username and a root password - Are you typing the correct Home password?

It appears from what you posted that you can log on and get a command line prompt but no X windows desktop. Did you select x to start on boot?

Did you select to install X windows? Did you see any configuration problems when installing X? It might be you selected the wrong graphics card or monitor.

If it fails again post your graphics card and monitor type. If you have fairly new stuff it might not be supported in 7.1. I assume your installing Redhat.

Why not try and login as 'root' and then type 'startx' to see if you have a X-window system installed?
