Logging in as root with incorrect password!
Hello fine people!
I was messing around in linux yesterday, and I noticed that you can log in as root with an incorrect password. I'm running Red Hat 6.1, Kernel 2.2.12. Anyway, for the sake of example, say the root password is konnichiwa. You can log in as root if the last two letters ONLY are different. No more. So, I could log in as root with a password of konnichiwa, using the passwords "konnichire", "konnichioi", "konnichiqa", or anything else along those lines! Ironically enough, it's only with root!
