Lockout Problem!

Hi there,

I am using Redhat Linux 8.0. There seems to be a problem with the Lock Screen option. When i click on the red hat icon (start button in Windows) and then on the Lock Screen button nothing happens, that is the screen doesn't get locked and i am not prompted for a password to resume my work. What could be the problem?

Have you got xscreensaver installed? One way to find out is to open up a terminal window and run

Another way is to add a lock screen button to a panel, right click on it and choose "configure screensaver" or something like that. Make sure you have some selected, and that they start correctly when you try them out. Locking the screen uses the screensaver subsystem, so if that's not installed or not working, lock screen will fail.
