Loading Ethernet Problem

Previously my ethernet was setup as DHCP, but now I moved my computer and I have to assign it a static IP address and stuff because of the router. I'm running Red Hat 7.3 and whenever it's booting up it gets stuck on "Initializing (or whatever it says) eth0" and it just sits there. What do I need to do? Thanks.

It's should time out after an couple of minutes.
Do interactive boot "I", and tell it not to start eth0

login in with your user account and su - root
cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
and edit ifcfg-eth0 script; save;exit

run ifup eth0

ifconfig eth0

and for good measure check /var/log/messages

also, you should disable the DHCP at boot time, if it keeps getting locked at that time.

Zlinux, I was counting the "kid" figuring that out
when he/she edited the ifcfg-eth0 and shaw the "dhcp"

I mean just because we "give them enough to hang themseves", doesn't mean we have to tell them how to
tie the "knot"

heheehe, you know...just making sure...can never be too careful,
actually...making the knot for hanging yourself is not that simple...cuz it's got to get tighter when your weight it let go of...and if they just make a simple knot it is not going to get tighter when they let you fall,
That is why when they take off the rope afterward, it left a mark with the form of an upside down "V" on the left and right side of the neck.
If you are interested later I can tell you how to make the deadly gas they use in the gas chambers,
That...is frightenly easy to do...
