live cd -> HD install -> back to live cd ?

I cant find a live cd I am happy with, so I installed Kanotix 64, which I liked, compiled a new kernel, added support for my wireless, added bcm43xx broadcom drivers to correct directories, and now I want to turn it back into a live cd. Is this possible? How can I do this if it is? Everything is all set and ready to be made back into a custom distro I love. THanks

Possible: Yes
In principle, you would do a minimum of:
1. copy the entire contents of the CD to a folder
2. Add or replace all relevant files--eg the new kernel would replace the original.
3. Modify the relevant startup scripts to point to the right things.
4. Burn the whole thing back to a CD

I've never done this, so take this with a grain of salt. If I were to tackle this, I would start by learning exactly how the live CD starts up.

there is actually a program you can use to make live CD's. I cant remember the name of it but i have seen it before on these forums, i must have forgotten to bookmark it. Im pretty sure that its the same scripts they use on PCLinux... "mklivecd livecd.iso" will create a iso name livecd.iso which you simply just burn.

I dont think these are it but you can try (got them with google.)
LiveCD
Linux Live CD/USB Script

Try searching the forum and google for some better ones. You CAN make custom live CD's its just a matter of finding the right scripts. Hope that helps :p im no linux expert... but i have read a little about it before.

You could try this, http://www.kanotix.de/index.php?modu...asteringFromCD and good luck!
