I couldn't save the configurations

PLease,
I Couldn't save the configurations.
Even starting the Linneighborhood as root.He doesn't allow.
I changed the domainname in smb.conf and restarted, but the Linneigborhood is showing the previous domain.
I can ping the Print server only by Windows desktop, not by Fedora. I would try Ubuntu instead, but Fedora behaviored better than Ubuntu , and I don't want to try CENTOS becuse having to do previous work .The Symantec Endpoint Protection and Lotus Notes are working here.
Thanks

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

Are the print servers a hardware device or a regular computer? If it is a hardware device then post the make and model. If it is a computer then post the operating system and version.

Is the fedora, print server and windows computers all on the same subnet? How is the network configured?

Answer

Thanks Michael,
My problem is:
We have an Windows Network.
My Fedora machine can't autenticate in the net to gain access in the print servers.
I have Samba running.
I have to make Fedora talks with AD .
Someone knows how to do that ?
They oppened an windows w/ my user asking for the passwd, I entered several times, but none.
So I am asking here.

Here are a few examples although using different versions on how to add Fedora to an existing windows domain.

Using the first, when I try domainname, the answer is correct, but trying realm discover <domain>, the answer is domain not found.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,

The answers Michel,
Are the print servers a hardware device or a regular computer? If it is a hardware device then post the make and model. If it is a computer then post the operating system and version.
Isn't computers, the printers have network interface.

Is the fedora, print server and windows computers all on the same subnet? How is the network configured?
Here we have only print servers and Windows. I am starting use linux , because, in the near future, we want only linux because is GPL.
We already use Red Hat servers. That's the reason to try Fedora. I tested UBuntu, but the Fedora's behavior was better.

Is your Windows network a Windows "Homegroup"? If so, note that Windows Homegroup works only with Windows devices. You need to use what Windows misguidedly calls "simple sharing."

I will try to install samba-common and nscd.
Tks,

Installed both samba-common and nscd, but the result is the same.
What can I do now ?

I fill the name servers address in the domain controllers(I guess it is right), but I don't know what to put in the ADS Realm field.
What can I do now ?
Thanks,

I searched the answer, ADS Realm, is found typing echo userdnsdomain% .
But all the information entered is not saved, and all times have to reenter.
The message is:

I achieved integrating and printing, using other domain instead the one I tried before.
Worked, only is missing map network drives , like \\ , using mount or smbclient command.
I put in other post , can close this thread.
Thanks everybody
