linux wont start dual boot pc


hallo all i dont know what is wrong with my linux yestrday i was on it and it was great as usual

then i restarted my computer and loged in into windows...
didnt do much in there... i didnt install a program or anything

but today when i turned on my computer the linux get stock while booting

this is where it gets stock it says: reading all physical volumes this may take a while

and then after about one minute it writes:

ide-cd: cmd 0X20timed out
hdd: dma interrupt
hdd: lost interrupt
hdd: status error: status=0X50 {driveready seekcomplete .....
hdd: status error: error=0X00 { }
hdd: drive not readyfor command
and then he gets stock like that....

now i tried it with 3 kernels each one got stock the same way

i have fc3 please help me

looks like some issue with your Secondary Slave (i presume its ur DVD, CD ROM drive)....try to unplug the power connector from your CD/DVD Drive and then boot into linux...if that dosent work, again plug the power connector into the CD/DVD Drive and reboot into linux once more....does it make any difference ??

ok thank you i am now writing from my linux i disconected the power from my dvd drive and that did the trick

now say how can i fix the problem? because i really need that drive it is my burner as well
so how do i fix it?

I am not sure, but looks like DMA is enabled for your DVD/CD-RW. You may try disabling dma and then see if that works..

The command would be (execute as root)

hdparm -d0 /dev/hdd

Note : Check the exact option for disabling DMA
