Question Linux won't boot anymore

Ok I use to knoppix from my cdrom.
But one time I was booting it up.
And I got this error.
But before the error everything was working fine.
But anyways, I restarted the computer and now it keep saying
"no bootable disk" I even tried my bios settings.
making cdrom the first to be booted but it still won't boot.
I've tried erasing everything my cd'rw disc. and burning slax on it.
That won't boot either.
Any suggestions?

When the computer first boots is it finding the cdrom drive? Do you have another OS on there that you can boot into or another computer with a working OS for which you can test to make sure the cdrom drive did not just "crap out" on you?

Is the cdrom capable of being a boot device (some older cdroms dont support it)? You checked the settings in the bios... and you burned the cd as a bootable CD or as a ISO image?
There is a way to boot from a floppy and then boot from the cdrom.. its a work around for older bioses to be able to install from a CD. I cant remember where I got the disk from but I beleive I got that from reading the slackware book at

I booted before from a cd.
It's not that.
I burned it as an image file.
I checked my bios settings.
I run windows 2000 pro spx.
But the crazy thing is. I booted knoppix before.
But I got an error.
So I restarted it and now it doesn't boot anymore.
I erased everything off of that disc.
And tried slax.
That didn't work either.
Could it be the disc.
I don't understand why it says " no bootable disc "
When I booted knoppix-std / phlak before several times.
But it doesn't want to.
But I got windows 2000 that boot's right up.
So that's no problem.
