ugh, im on windows 98 atm 'how gay' anyway i cant seem to install linux-wlan-ng it says package is not .tgz and it clearly shows the extention as .tgz can anyone help im runnin Slackware 10.1
You mean you're trying to use installpkg or pkgtool to install it? Well tgz doesn't necessarily mean it's a slackware package, it could just be a normal tar.gz file, in which case you're just gonna have to extract it and follow any instructions in the included INSTALL or README file.
ok i got the package from the slackware site it installs kinda unno but like when i type in modprobe prism2_usb it says it cant find this file, i've installed this before with no problems i dont know what im doing wrong
i think that with the configs you will have to make it would be best to compile the driver from scratch. it isn't real hard anyway... i knew nothing about wireless on linux and all i did was read the README and it worked. the README is very detailed and easy to follow. try it and it will take less time then trying to get the tgz to work.
