Post Linux virus test?

You know you're bored when you want to get a virus.

Anyhow, I was just thinking that it would be interesting to set up a virtual machine (in vmware) of perhaps Ubuntu, and then put a linux-based virus on it, just to see what happens.

So does anyone happen to know where I can get a linux virus? I know Rapidshare is an excellent place to voluntarily get a virus, (that's the only reason you'd want to go there, about 2% of its files are actually legitimate.) but mostly the viruses there are targeted for windows.

Hmm, that's interesting, altough I guess I was more looking for a virus that would make actually getting into my system a difficulty... I guess I'm kind of looking for a challenge. I remember seeing one placed on a server that disallowed running specific executables (note that it didn't necessarily prevent all executables from running, just some) and made it difficult for anyone to attempt to repair the system. So I think it would be interesting to see a virus somewhat like that.

This description is kind of old. Maybe it needs updating?
