Linux tutoring or help me finish college quarter please

I'm not sure if I am posting this thread in the right forum but I am looking for someone to help tutor me or help me through the last couple weeks of my college quarter taking Linux.
I have been falling behind lately because I am having some problems understanding how the commands work in conjunction with the labs that I need to finish. I have put an ad on Craigslist trying to find help but have been unable to find anyone to help.
If you think you can help please let me know and I will give you my email and attach a couple sample labs that I need help with. Thank you and I apologize if I have posted in the wrong section.

You can always post your questions in this thread and we can help you out the best we can, but do remember we will not do your homework for you. Besides posting questions, you also have google as your friend. Learn to search well and you will be set. Also you can use the man command for help with individual commands. Say for example you need help with sed, you can type "man sed" and it will bring up the man page for sed. Hope that helps, good luck.

Cheers,

Josh

Don't forget your college. There may be a time and place where students may go for tutoring in specific courses. Your college may also have a computer science club or a Linux club that you can call on for help.

I assume you have already approached the Instructor with the issues? It would be the first place to present in-depth problems with a course.

Above rule doesn't mean we can not help but it is best for you to attempt to do the work yourself. Even if you stumble, that will show your weak points that need attention. When tutoring someone, a tutor doesn't perform assigned work but addresses the areas of concern to help the person achieve goal(s) or solutions to problems.

Thank you all for your responses. I think my biggest concern now is the time crunch that I'm in. I have under 2 weeks left to finish the material. Would anyone be willing to help through an IM program just with the places that I am having problems. I can send you copy's of the lab assignments and you can help guide me through. I don't expect anyone to do my homework but for someone to help or steer me in the right direction would be helpful. God knows my instructor hasn't done anything but said figure it out on your own, which is completely helpful.

I suppose you can get quicker access by posting any question on the forums. Many people offer great solutions round the clock.

Not sure how real time I'd be but you can pm or email me if you need to. If you need text or msg or video maybe another would be online in some cases.

So you were instructed to figure it out on your own by the instructor. Posting a request here or anywhere is not figuring it out on your own.

I believe something is not right with this situation. No teacher, instructor or professor would leave a person hanging like this. Evaluations! You seem to have omitted some details. Two weeks left to complete course material seems like a short course or you have not followed along or participated within the course. I've had students who would procrastinate and then weeks before completion due date they would come running with some of the weirdest excuses as to why. Poor performance is one thing but to not understand things this far into the course shows there is a problem somewhere.

What about fellow students? Some may be willing to aid you with things that you don't understand.
Hire the best student in your class as a tutor. This happens all the time to benefit all. You pay the tutor to aid you to understand or translate to you what the instructor has presented.

I personally won't help at this time because you have not provided all information and it seems shady to me. Deadlines are known before hand and now you want help with just two weeks left.

Forums tend to discourage doing homework. Asking for a tutor is a much different deal. One asks a tutor to help them understand and learn how to learn. They do not expect one to do one's homework nor as a tutor would I do homework for another. I would in any case try to help one find the answer.
