Question Linux Shift+Spacebar ?

Hey! I didnt really know where to put this, but it has been bothering me for quite sometime.

When I installed my uBuntu 6.10 desktop, i was able to type spacebar, even if i was holding down the shift key.

Somehow, right now i can't anymore

if i press the spacebar while holding the shift key, nothing happens, in all applications.

Thanks for any lights on this
