linux server partition
this one has probably been run in the dirt, but i have to ask.
i am installing a linux redhat 7.3 server. I have a 100 gigabyte hard drive to use for this operation. Here is what i have come up with so far: /boot 100mb /usr 25,000 mb /home 50,000 mb /chroot 2500 mb /cache 2500mb /var 2500mb <swap> 10000 mb /tmp 2500mb / 2500mb i realize some of these partitions are not right, this is why i am asking for help. I plan to host webpages allow email and run games on the box. any help here would be greatly appreciated. thanks....wazirr |
I think you can make smaller /boot (25MB should do).. Much depends where will be the webpages and emails kept. If all in /home, make it 50GB, if in /var, make it bigger. 200MB swap will be OK for sure (max 500MB, but not more).
