linux screensaver in windows

Hi Guys..

Yesterday after viewing my screensaver in my notebook with CentOS 4.2 one of my friend aksed me "Can he get that compass(screensaver) in hiw Windows machine ?". I told him that it is not possible as the application was not built for Win32 plateform..but then I thought "Is it really not possible !".

So I want suggestions from community about the possiblity of porting the basic apps like screensaver from linux to windows or vice-versa...

Find the developer/maintainer and see if there is already a windows binary for it. Otherwise you'll have to compile it from source. Probably even modifying for the way windows handles graphics.

[edit] BTW: see this... http://www.reallyslick.com/

These are OpenGL screensavers for windows. You'll see some gnome screensavers here I think.
