Linux profiling:

Hi ALL,

I am doing profiling for my multithread application using gprof. To generate gmon.out file I set the CC with pg option.I am unable to generate gmon.out file what might be the reason.

When I run my application I am getting fallowing error. Please kindly suggest me whether any other procedure is there fallow to do profiling for multithread application. We are using powerpc based board, I configured the binutilty(version binutils-2.11.2) for powerpc and cross compiled for powerpc, While cross compiling i got warning like Bfd doesnt support powerpc architecture. Please suggest me any further tool, I have to use to do easy way profiling for multithread application.what are the steps I have to fallow.

be sure to add -pg to LDFLAGS, and make sure -g is included in CFLAGS.
