Linux Partition deleted - cannot access XP

Greetings,

A freind of mine had a dual partition on his computer. He decided that he would remove the linux partition as he no longer needed it. He deleted the linux partition from XP using partition magic.

Problem now is that when he boots the computer, it sits in GRUB and does nothing. He can access the grub terminal, so he can enter commands in there. Linux was originially the default boot platform.

What options does he have?

Should he set XP to be the default boot platform from inside GRUB? What commands do that?

Is there a way to delete grub from the system and just have XP boot?

Thanks for any info.

Wipe the MBR so Windows will boot.. fdisk /MBR - with a Windows boot cd or floppy, etc.

yup, you can boot to your windows cd,
enter the repair mode console, type fixmbr to restore your
windows boot to MBR
