Linux On A Mac Classic

I just purchased an old Mac Classic and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get linux working on it. I found some tutorials online, but they only seem to cover 680X0 Macs. I have a 68000 Mac running at 8MHz, w/ 2MB of RAM, and a 40MB hdd. I'm hoping to get linux working on it and I would appreciate any advice y'all could offer.

680x0 refers to Motorola processors, your 68000 included. What Linux can run on a Mac with so little RAM?

Frankly, I think with 2 MB of RAM even SLAX is going to be too much for it. In fact, I seem to recall reading that the least amount of RAM anyone ever was successful with booting Linux on was 4 MB (I may be wrong on this though). You're going to have to search for a stripped down floppy that supports the m68k arch, and offhand I don't know of any. SLAX is only released for i386 according to distrowatch, so it's not going to help you anyway.

Wow ... that takes me back to the days of old archs! Fond memories!

If you can't put Linux on it, why not converting it into a fish bowl?
