Linux on a 8M laptop w/DB9 for net connection

Hi all- trying to decide which distro to use on a 8M laptop. It has a 121 M hdd. Currently I'm looking at Linux in a pillbox as it does have Lynx already included but it's a ramdisk based distro. I'd like to install. Can anybody recommend anything else that has worked better for them in the past?

Also- I have made a cable converting the DB9 to RJ45 but don't know how to go about making Linux use the serial port for its network connection.

I have a Linux router running a DHCP server which makes things easy.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Tiny Linux is pretty good, zipslack also.

You could try LFS.
