Linux Nvidia Forum

Has anyone here by chance successfully set up an account with them?
I have gone through all 3 of my emall addy's as well as set up new ones to try and set up an account.
Each one comes back with the error, account banned by admin for some reason.
I've never had an account there so see no reason why any of my email addy's would be banned.
I do have a knack for pissing off others but come on, wait till I actually do it before banning.
I wanted an account there to be able to possibly contribute or discuss problems with others there concerning the Nvidia drivers.
I've emailed them twice and havn't received an answer in almost a week now.
Does anyone know anything at all concerning the forum?

I cannot really answer much of your post, but I DO have an account with them, for the Forums. I've had it for quite some time. Never had any trouble signing up that I recall, but it was a while ago...

I'd suggest you contact THEM (the Forum admins) and inquire as to what the problem might be (EDIT -- oops, I see you've tried.)

I'll tell ya what though: IMHO, unless you just want to join to scream & moan about nVidia driver problems like 90% of the other members over there, you'll get far more productive help here on LQ, without having to wade through all the whining.

I've found absolutely no benefit to having my account there. Your mileage may vary.

I bow to your experience with that forum Grapefruitgirl.
I think I'll take your advice and stick with this forum then.
I was trying to figure out why my own X was locking up for no apparent reason and finally figured out it only locked up when I opened the nvidia Xserver settings.
I didn't find the answer there but was going to submit it to the folks who seem to have the same problem.
I'm not a hardcore gamer so the default settings are fine.
Perhaps they should also take your advice and venture forth into the land of linuxquestions.org.

I suspect you'll end up happier in the long run, for not bothering over there.

I've answered questions there, but EVERY time, the OP was long gone, and/or couldn't bother following up the issue.
I've asked a few questions too, and never got a reply-- EVER.
Seems lots of folks just like ranting at nVidia, and they go there to do it

I love nVidia hardwwre, no question, but all of my issues I've ever had with an nVidia item, was solved no thanks to their Forum. Most of the time, a driver upgrade or downgrade solves a problem like yours that you mention. Of course, distro-specifics cause variance, but *generally* it's a driver bug, or some bleeding-edge package acting wonky

As for general nVidia help, the README files are excellent, and the xorg docs are pretty good too.

I'm sure there are lots of NV forum members who are also LQ members, and vice versa so those folks are encouraged to comment as well with their own experiences.
