Post linux not booting up after starting the services.


i am not able to boot in linux. my computer was shut down improperly. it checks the file systems and mounts them properly.after checking the file systems it hangs during the starting of services.
eg starting xinetd ok
starting lpd ok
.
..
and then it hangs.

during starting of services it gives message
entry xinetd in /var/lock/subsys has deleted /unused inode 1154558 cleared
