Linux multiple page DTP Software

Hi

Does anyone know of a Linux DTP software that can be used to publish multiple page documents, reports and books?

Scribus is only geared towards newsletters, posters or pamphlets and its text import and styling is a joke, at least for multiple pages. There was a rumour that Adobe was going to port InDesign to Linux put but this seems unlikely and anyway at £650 its a non starter.

Many years ago I used Ventura when it was a Dos programme and I found it quite intuitive and I was very sorry to see it die with the advent of MS Windows. Didn't Borland buy it?

I had a brief go with Scribus in the past. It seems like it has a lot of power, but takes a little learning to get useful with it. AFAIK, this is the most sophisticated app of its type for Linux, so you might find that spending some time with it is worth the effort. Sorry I don't know what else to suggest.
