linux kits for ps2 and dreamcast

i recently got a dreamcast and my friend is going to burn some games for me(yes it is possible) and im going to try to get the best distro of linux for my dreamcast :) i hope they get hardware accelleration for the video to work. i think i found a distro that supports the serial port, modem, and controllers...

anyone know how you would rig a storage device to the serial port? ;)

I don't think it would be of much use if a system doesn't have writable devices. However, NetBSD for DC supports DC's Ethernet adaptor. Meaning there's a way to use DC as a dumb terminal and write data to a server. This way has been around since the beginning of UNIX. Any university has such setup.

So cryptic that it hurts.

Why do these free sites make you chase your tail around and around? Kind of like those GCC sites. How about a downloads page along with some descriptions.

Edit: These sites give me a headache.

I still have my DreamCast, lost all the burned games by now... linux ran a bit slow on there... great for console bad for gui... the Xbox version was a bit better but still its no 800 mhz pc. it works like a computer with low mem lol.

The iso is a bit hard to find.. i used emule to get it back in the day.

Well sadly i found out that it got harder as the xbox came out, most devs moved on to the xbox, and now the same thing is happenning with the xbox, the best like evox have gotten lost.. so that meens they will move on to another.. maybe the xbox360 once they break in to it.

I had problems searching for it 5 years ago... i dont think there is one live copy outthere no more.. but lets see i will make some calls, i might find somebody that has the cd in storage.

well i found one site but it wasent an image (http://www.m17n.org/linux-sh/dreamcast/distribution) and am not quite shure what to do w/ it its a bunch of files and such (any one ever use this site b fore and if so could u tell me what to do w/ these files or hjow to compile a disc from them. i also found another site http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_utils_dev.shtml but i cant download the image there due to having only a dial up connection (the hos of that site has bandwidth constraints) so yeah if any one has any information on the files listed above (such as which is better ) or any experiance i would be interested in hearing it
