Linux keyboard!

Well, in case you haven't seen this already, Cherry has created a Linux keyboard, http://news.zdnet.co.uk/software/lin...9164303,00.htm
I think it's best if we show our support for Linux orientated hardware and buy products like these. :)

cool...I have wondered for some time already, why the heck I can buy a keyboard with windows logo but not with any other logo...and basically, why there are no other products than those that are "microsoft-aimed".

well, I guess that just shows us how greatly we're influenced by a single money making big company...nice that products like the one above are finally coming out :)

This is really nice. And like you said, about time the windows key be removed from the keyboard :)

I wish it were prettier! The looks alone will discourage me from buying one when/if it becomes available in the US, but the steep price is also off-putting.

It's a step in the right direction, though. I really resent seeing those "Windows" keys on my otherwise excellent IBM keyboard (which cost about $14US).

BTW, the best keyboard I've ever had was a Focus, back in the days of MS-DOS. It had ALPS switches, not membrane technology. If you type 90 wpm as I do, you will appreciate the much greater responsiveness of a keyboard with mechanical switches. I don't know if any such are even produced anymore. This IBM keyboard is the most responsive non-mechanical one I've found so far.

It's good enough for me :)

90WPM, thats pretty impressive. I can never manage that, because of my fat fingers I often mistype and the sad thing is I am aware so I can not just continue and spell check later :)

I do hope this new Cherry keyboard is a success: then maybe other prettier models will follow! :)

That's how the buck flows :) I am sure biggies will soon step into this market. Waiting anxiously for the golden rush to make linux keyboards.
