Question Linux kernel internals

Hello,

I am trying to decipher the source file "arch/i386/kernel/head.S" (the one starting up "start_kernel()") and so far without much success.
Does anyone know a place where this code would be explained more or less step-by-step? or if someone could explain to me the main things it does before calling "start_kernel" this would be great.

Thanks,
Igor

Thanks. The page linked me to a site that has some info.
I might still use any information that's available from the kernel pro's
