linux kernel install on embedded device
hi
i am a newbie to linux.so please help i want to use linux kernel 2.6 on my embedded device.i have got to know that i need a bootloader, kernel and root filesystem for that. i dont know which root filesystem to use intial ramdisk or jffs. but i got to know that JFFS is for flash devices. So that leaves with intial ramdisk but where do i get it? is that available with the linux kernel i have downloaded. waiting for a quick reply thanks and regards amit |

You need an embedded system, so probably a small one. The software you get in a standard distribution is too big. You need to build the filesystem yourself. There's a howto about embedding Linux here: http://www.dobit.com/emblin/embhowto.htm It's quite old, but should be useful. |
