linux in a flash disk


i got a USB flash disk of 1 GB space. I need to somehow have a linux distro (prefer debian based) in that usb flash disk. any ideas how?

Distribution: Switched to regualr Ubuntu, because I don't like KDE4, at all. Looks like vista on crack.....

Debian based, lots of friendly free help. I use it myself on an old box. You can even buy it pre-installed on a 2 gig usb drive, if you (like me) are too lazy to do it yourself.
