Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Linux hardware test suite

Hello,

I see many Linux hardware test tools on the web. But many posts are more than a decade old.

I would like to put together a bash script that runs a suite of up-to-date hardware test tools on a monthly basis.

What tools would you recommend that I include in the suite?

Many thanks,

LRP

Here's a fairly recent article.

https://www.linuxlinks.com/benchmarktools/

I think you'll find that many of the tools haven't changed much because they just work.

Not sure there is a great use for testing hardware but can't hurt if the tests don't interfere with work.

What are you trying to test exactly? A common web site has some tools for testing but may not be what you want. https://www.phoronix-test-suite.com/

The phoronix site has many tests for hardware and software published and they reference the tests.
