Linux for Pentium1 133 Mhz?

I need a distro of Linux for a Pentium 1 133 Mhz and 64 mb ram, I mainly need access to the console as i will use that PC to learn more about Linux.

Damn Small Linux

Or even just Debian. Debian (Sarge, at that point) ran well enough on my 200MHz Cyrix, but I couldn't do big things like run Apache or use a GUI (though I didn't try any of the *boxes).

I have a samba server with a Pentium I 200MHz (although it does have 256MB RAM) on which I put Slackware. I don't really run it with a GUI, although it does have fluxbox on there. I wouldn't say it's lightning quick in fluxbox, but it's more than adequate for it's purpose. From the command line, you wouldn't know you're using a ten year old box.

I have Debian Etch with XFCE running on a Pentium 133MMX System with 32MB of RAM.. not a speed demon by any means, but you can work on it without too much pain. Use the Debian XFCE Iso 1 to install on hardware like that..
The Debian installer even went into some low end install mode automatically when it saw the specs of the system.

DSL would be a good choice as well.

I think running Debian (Sarge or Lenny) or Slackware would be fine on that box. Damn Small as well, but my pick of the three would definitely be Debian Lenny.

Just Curious why you would recommend OldStable (Sarge) or Testing (Lenny) but skip the current Stable version ETCH ?

Seems odd to me..
