linux environment variables?
Hi,
My OS is Red Hat Linux 7.1.
If I telnet my computer from another Unix computer:
I can 'ls', but cannot 'ls -options'.
Is this problem caused by environment variables? How can I fix it?
Thanks a lot.

This is probably NOT an environment variables issue, because even though your telnetting from another machine to your machine you are using the environment defined for the user you're logging in as. If that user has no problem when logged on locally, there should be no problem when remote. I don't know of any circumstance that would cause this, but I'll do some digging and post back here.

Thanks, d3funct.
No, all users (my family) don't have this problem locally.

Sorry, I didn't define the problem correctly. It seems a network question. I'll post it to network section.
