linux conversion

I currently use Win98SE, but I can't stand the errors anymore. I want to switch to a Linux distribution, but I am not sure which one. What would you recommend? I'm looking for one with a user-friendly interface, yet has plenty of features to tweak.

i use and like rh71 using gnome window manager.

note: it is going to take some learning to migrate from windows. linux has, i think, more flexibility and advantages than windows, but be ready to learn and stick with it. linux can do just as much and more.

laters,
jason

mandrake and redhat are the most user-friendly installations. suse is also a fairly easy install on most computers. on any of those distros, you have your choice of desktops and window managers.

Me, I'm a fan of SuSE & Mandrake. But my advice is to go to:

http://www.google.com/linux?site=sea...%22cheap+cd%22

and do a search for cheap cd's. Find some dirt cheap ones (that are of recent vintage) and try out the different distros and decide for yourself.

And if you have a decent connection to the net, download an ISO and burn yourself a copy.
