Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Looks like some site will have a linux blow out this weekend (april 19, 20). All linux cds they carry will sell for 1 cents each, including latest Redhat 9, mandrake 9.1 and all major distros. I don't know how they do it, by I already bought 5 from them. [edit] But since I'm blatantly advertising, this thread has been closed removing the link provided by the original thread starter who doesn't know how to read the rules, showing disrespect to our site.[/edit]
I suspect the way they do it is by charging 30 bucks for "shipping and handling". I didn't see any rates though, so who knows. Cool deal if there was no catch though, huh?
Actually their s/h is pretty fair- much like other linux cd sites. They charge $4.95 for 1 item. So I got deals like debian, redhat and mandrake for about 15 bux.
To add to the complement, I must say that these guys are really good. I ordered knoppix and this software cd called GNUWin from them last month. I live in New Jersey, and received the cds next day. If you check their about page, it says that they ship from 3-4 locations throughout the US to cut on delivery time. So, I'd guess this is a really nice deal.
Actually I came to know about linuxQuestions from the above mentioned site. They suggest their buyers use linuxQuestions.org instead of their own forums for quick replies!

i just went thru and clicked 8 items i wanted at 1 cent each.
shipping said. $52. sweet.
why don't they just offer to give you $1 for each item you
are willing to pay the shipping for. or maybe priority
mail prices have gone up again? I shipped a motherboard
priority mail a month ago, and it costs $10 to ship priority
mail. what a rip. fedex ground would have been $5.
well, i guess it covers lot mroe than just the shipping - a bubble mailer, cd labels, printing etc. And if you are buying just 1 set- 5 bux total is a real nice price for a linux distro. what can you do with 5 bux. on top of that, they probably end up paying a lot on credit card processing, advertisement, workers, etc. It really is worth the $5, than waiting hours for redhat 9 or mandrake 9.1 downloads, then burning the cds with a slow cdrw. let them do the work for cheap!
